Basically, sound that is coming from Chrome (YouTube, Soundcloud, and the likes) is crackly, through both my laptop's speakers and my earbuds. Sound from iTunes and Safari using the same speakers/earbuds is fine. I've tried deinstalling Chrome, restarting, then reinstalling it. Twice. Still crackles. Any ideas?

You could try downloading and checking Chrome Canary. It's the bleeding edge beta (usually a new update every day)

Try to update the flash player. If it's already updated, go into your plugin menu (Settings—->Extensions) and disable the plugins one by one until you find the issue.

does your soundcard have any effects like EAS and WOW? My silly laptop had horrible sound out of the laptops speakers when that shit was turned on but sounded fine through my external card and my excessively large 5.1 system that I use with it at home. . . Try going through your advanced settings on the soundcard and volume control panel. Might work, but might not.

I don't know about your problem, but Chrome has crashed 3 times on my computer. So maybe it is a problem with Chrome. . . I don't know, I am no Computer Scientist.

I don't know a lot about computers, but it's a pretty new MacBook Air so even I know there shouldn't be problems on the computer's components' ends.
